Bought this after trying out other mounting options that did not hold zero. This top rail is exactly what they claim . Holds zero 100% after 200 rds. Even after taking off and putting back on stay zeroed. I would definitely do this if I get another AK. Very easy install and just make sure you use loctite the screws

20 years ago, an AK jumped into my lap. The platform is finally finished. I think it looks and operates professionally upgraded! Assembly is tricky. Take your time during assembly, follow great instructions and your rifle from the east will be the beast it was meant to be.

Gen 3 Dog Leg Rail - You NEED This Product!
Wanted to thank Texas Weapons Systems (TWS) for an outstanding product. I have a Saiga Sporter in 5.45x39 and it fit perfectly right out of the box. The install video on TWS's website is extremely detailed and helpful. I had previously purchased and properly installed an expensive side-mount rail and couldn't get it to maintain zero. It would loosen up after 3 rounds. Worse than that - I emailed the company a week ago seeking some tips or ideas. So far, silence on the line. On the other hand I took the dog leg Gen 3 to the range today and it performed 100%. It didn't loosen up during firing. I opened and closed the top cover between shots & it was spot on. Finally I removed it completely and then put it back on - still on target. Thought you might like to hear from a satisfied customer. Keep up the great work. Matt W

The picany rails are milled slightly too narrow, so my scope cannot get a tight fit. Had to put some electrical tape on the rail to stop the scope from moving around. My brother had the same problem with his, so its unlikely to be a defect in mine. Other than that, the cover fits nice and tight.
