Gen-3 Basic Rear Peep Sight

I always like to have backup iron sights. You never know when you'll need to use them. This is a nice, no frills rear sight that'll get the job done of your optic fails. Nice fit and finish, too.

A must have to incorporate on the dog leg rail.

As a rear sight, it's perfectly functional. It gives you a clear sight picture that's faster to acquire than standard AK leaf sights and grants you a longer sight radius, which are all huge boons. However, its method of mounting to the dust cover is a bit of a stinker. It doesn't tighten and clamp onto the rail like most sights, instead sliding onto the rail and using the screw as a crossbar to keep it at that particular rail section. As such, it's comparatively looser than other irons and wobbles a bit. I would've much preferred a traditional tightened-down and secure option like the (now unavailable) Gen 2 peep sight had, but that's just me. Other than that, it still works just fine, but please - I'd love the option to really secure it to my rail!

This is a great little rear sight, much better than the original AK sight. Also it is always nice to have a set of backup iron sights, even if you have an optic. A bit expensive for what it is, but still very nice.

Overall a good little addition to their Dog Leg Rail. My only issue was that I prefer a lower 1/3 cowitness and only certain optics achieve that with this sight and rail. Overall very happy and would recommend it. Look in FAQ section to find compatible optics.

Bought the Gen-3 Basic Rear Peep sight and at first i was having difficulties installing it as it was loose when installed emailed TEXAS WEAPON SYSTEMS and they answered super quick with the answer i was looking for. Thanks will continue to do business with you guys again.
